Aquacate Missions Building a Church
Inside Iglesia Bautista Emmanuel - Dec 2000
Church service in process
Brother Rafael, second from the left on above pictures, is the moderator of the church. He is studying to be a pastor.
The Ladies of the church standing on their new building foundation - Dec 2000 They have been trying to build a church for a while because they have out grown the old building, but have run out of funds. Right now they are in hard times due to drought conditions in the area and work is scarce. As you know, if a church is not growing, it is prone to stagnation and other problems.
The work has now continued (July 2001) on the new church building.
Finally, the walls are up on the new church that Iglesia Bautista Emmanuel is building. Thanks goes to several churches back in Texas that made a one time contribution to help this church in El Aguacate village, but funds have run out at this point. The walls are up, but more funds are required to continue. "If you are unable to go on a trip of this nature, but you would like to support the work of this outreach project, please help us with your contributions and prayers."
This group of men are members of Iglesia Bautista Emmanuel. They love doing God's work so much that they did not go to their secular jobs for two weeks so that they could put up the walls of their new church building. Each one makes approximately three dollars a day for a 12-hour work day in their secular job. They are willing to put God's work above their own.
We need to minister to the physical needs of our Mexican brothers and sisters through clothing, food, medical help, and any other means possible in accordance with Matthew 25:35-40 For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee ahungered, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
