1 Corinthians 12:7-10

(1 Corinthians 12:7-10) To keep me from becoming conceited because of these surpassingly great revelations, there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me.  Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me.  But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”  Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.  That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties.  For when I am weak, then I am strong.

GRACE ENOUGH

Jesus’ grace is enough for every need in my life.

1.                  GRACE ENOUGH - For My Financial Needs

A.    Jesus doesn’t promise financial prosperity.

B.     Jesus does promise financial sufficiency.

(Philippians 4:19) My God will meet all your needs, according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

C.    That’s “enough!”

D.    Is “enough” - enough for me?

E.     If not, I will ultimately steal God’s tithe and spend that on myself.

2.                  GRACE ENOUGH - For My Physical Needs

A.    Paul’s thorn in the flesh was probably a health problem.

B.     It was probably a severe and frightening health problem.

C.    God’s grace is “enough” for my severe and frightening health problem.

(Hebrew 4:16) Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in our time of need.

D.    “For God’s grace will replace –

The lost wealth of my health.”

3.                  GRACE ENOUGH - For My Family Needs

(1 Peter 5:6) Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time.  Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.

4.                  GRACE ENOUGH - For My Future Needs

(Matthew 6:25-34) Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear…  Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.  Are you not much more valuable than they? …And why do you worry about clothes?  See how the lilies of the field grow.  They do not labor or spin.  Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.  If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will He not much more cloth you, O you of little faith?  So do not worry, saying, “What shall we eat?” or “What shall we drink?” or “What shall we wear?”  For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.  But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.  Therefore do not worry about tomorrow.”
