2 Thessalonians 3:1-5
(2 Thessalonians 3:1-5) Finally, brothers, pray for us that the message of the lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you. And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men, for not everyone has faith. But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one. We have confidence in the Lord that you are doing and will continue to do the things we command. May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.
We can have an amazing calm in the midst of this chaotic ole world.
1. The Lord is Faithful To Me
A. Jesus is more faithful than people.
(3:2-3a) “And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men, for not everyone has faith. But the Lord IS faithful…”
(2 Timothy 2:13) “If we are faithless, He will remain
faithful, for He cannot disown Himself.”
B. Jesus is faithful to “the extreme.”
C. Jesus is “the definition” of faithful.
(3:3) “FAITHFUL is the Lord.”
(Proverb 18:24) “A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.”
2.
The Lord Will Strengthen Me
(3:3) “But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen…”
A. He strengthens me by supporting me.
B. He gives me a firm place to stand.
(Psalm 40:1-2) “I waited patiently for the Lord; He turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.”
3.
The Lord Will Protect Me
(3:3) But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and
protect you from the evil one.”
A. Jesus has power over the evil forces in the world.
B. Jesus will protect me from the brutal attacks of
Satan.

roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”
(John 10:11-15) “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. The hired hand is not the shepherd who owns the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it… I am the good shepherd; I know My sheep and My sheep know Me… and I lay down My life for the sheep.”
(John 10:10) “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
